I am currently working on a apron dress pattern that is closed on the sides, therefore more accurate. There is little is known about female viking costumes, since most didn't make it throught 1000 years. So there must be some interpretation done.

are the sides of the apron laced, is that what those yellow strings are for?
:iconlaerad:
they are not laced per say, but there are strings attached to the front and back that can be tied at the waist. The fist apron dress I made (Viking costumes 1, I think) was closed on sides, but I was not happy with the fit. I made a couple of sideless aprons, and people like them, but I am working on a more accurate ''flared-tube apron''. I bought woolen cloth to make it, and I should get cutting this week.

I have to learn, but I lack time !

I will put today a picture of embroidery by insertion that I did...

Same here... I'm not good at it at all. I do hope, however, I can learn to do this kind of stuff one day:

wow... this stuff is amazing ! I have done a pretty good insertion embroidery on an apron, but I lent it to my stepsister, and I did not get it back yet.

Wow.... I really love this design. Simple, yet so beautiful.

How much would you charge for a comission like this?

Furniture wears out and dies.
Mirrors
never.
:iconclairezorz:
How much for a commissioned dress? I'm thinking about getting one of these Viking dresses you make.
